Trump Surges in Polls, Democrats' Reasons for Unfettered Immigration Probed; Hurricane Stunts Effects of Canadian Cold Front; Burnley's Heaton Joins English National Team, Plus Orioles and Ravens

BALTIMORE, Maryland, Friday, September 2, 2016 - A wave of public opinion polls confirm the impressions of political wags on both sides: Donald Trump, after months of wallowing in his own squalor, is finally starting to surge.  Two straight weeks of relentless pounding on the awful record of his opponent, liberally spiced with new revelations about Hillary from law enforcement officials, have proved an effective tonic for the Trump campaign.  All along, observers and analysts have urged Trump to hone his message on the obvious weakness of his opponent, who seems more appropriately fitted for a future of incarceration than one of Whitehouse duties.  Even Mrs. Clinton's most die hard allies have conceded her sad predilection for telling lies, all kinds of lies, in addition to all kinds of untruths, to making all manner of fraudulent claims, plus her mind-numbing propensity for concealing actual truths.  An overwhelming percentage of all Americans say she is untrustworthy and unbelievable.  It is a tribute to her campaign advisors that she has been able to hold the lead in the polls for so long.  But the feeling among many is that once the plug is pulled on the kabal of lies and frauds that have propped her up, her political fortunes are certain to tank.

Some of Trump's ploys have caught the Democrats off-guard.  Chief among these unexpected gambits is Trump's open appeal to minority voters.  First, he described what he assumes is a very obvious conclusion for all Americans: minorities have voted for Democrats for years without giving alternatives any serious thought.  Worse still, minorities have given the Dems a virtual carte blanche on the methods they have utilized once elected.  These Democrats have proclaimed that minorities have been ripped off and that only liberals can reverse this trend.  Well, in cities across the country, Democrats have held sway.  You cannot name a city of any size where a Republican is in power.  But for all their absolute control, the Democrats cannot point to a single example of real success.  Minority unemployment, especially in the category of youthful males of working age, is nothing short of abysmal.  Barack Obama has been president for two full terms and has accomplished nothing to reverse unemployment numbers that would make even the most committed Donkey gag.  In fact, what policy initiative can the administration point to that has even been intended to reverse the embarassing unemployment numbers?

I know of none.

Trump has shown a willingness to jump into the breach.  He recites the unemployment record of Democrats and ends with this question: "What do you have to lose?" in arriving at the answer to Trump's urging to give him a chance.  The truth is, absolute failure would be no worse than the Democrats' record of accomplishments.

News has leaked out of the Trump campaign about the next step in Trump's efforts to lure minority voters.  Sometime in the next few weeks he intends to campaign in poor urban areas such as those in Cleveland or Detroit.  It would be a bold move.  It would begin to put substance around Trump's campaign promise to bring real change to depressed urban settings.  Democrats have poured trillions of dollars into urban renewal projects, almost all of which have proven to be little more than boondoggles.

Many Americans believe that the real decline in urban neighborhoods can be linked to the advent of the modern wellfare program.  Such programs discourage the formation of nuclear families; in fact, they actually provide the man with an incentive to leave the home or never move in with or marry the mother of his children.  Unless the incentive to destroy the family is removed, any program is doomed to fail.  Yet Democrats know - or think they know - that if they radically alter or even suspend urban welfare programs - their political dominance in these settings are likely to end.

Meanwhile, immigration continues to be the one issue that makes one party - the Democrats - especially the ultra left (including Hillary Clinton), which has taken over the Democratic Party, literally squirm in their human debris.  The reasons should be obvious to anyone paying even slight attention.

The Democrats in the past, and right up to the present time, have utterly dominated the Black Vote.  It has been and continues to be a knee jerk vote arising out of the perception that the GOP is the party of rich white voters.  So long as the Democrats promise to keep the government bank of social welfare open and distributing monthly checks, their control over the minority vote has seemed beyond reproach.

This seems particularly sad because the implications for future generations, including minority generations yet unborn, is dire to say the least.  The USA is in debt, very serious debt, and it is getting worse.  Our sworn enemies hold much of the credit paper and won't hesitate to use it to their advantage.  Furthermore, the higher the debt the more the USA has to spend to service it.  Soon, economists warn, the USA will be unable to afford a military capable of protecting the free world.

Why does the Democratic party do this, and how does unfettered immigration play in to this scenario.  It is really quite simple.  Spending lots of money on social programs keeps the Democrats in power in most large cities and in some states.  The Dems, however, are in desperate need of new voters to replace those who become wise enough to see the economic Armageddon the nation is heading for unless the debt is addressed.  The new voters that the Dems can and do scoop up come flowing over the nation's borders every day: illegal immigrants.  If the Dems can get them registered and signed up for welfare, they believe their voting practices are easily predicted.

It is very very sad to see a once great political party stoop to such low brow tactics.  But it is the reality of the current situation.  Trump's ideas directly address this problem and the Dems hate him for it.  There is nothing they will not do to keep him from being elected.  Watch out!

Weather Notes:  Northeast and Other North American Sectors to Feel First Taste of Autumn.  Even as parts of Florida and other states along the Gulf of Mexico and Southeast Coast of These United States endure Hurricane Hermine, which has now been downgraded to Tropical Storm Hermine, the one urgent impact to many Americans is the short work the storm is making of the season's first blast of Canadian Cold. Even as Hawaii endured one hurrican and now prepares for an even more imposing storm this coming weekend, the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic eagerly await the first fall cold wave of substance.  But while forecasts first called for the cold air to keep the hurricane at bay, later prognostications say the cold front will, at least in part, give way to the hurricane.  If you enjoy the Autumn like I do, the forecast for places like Stowe, Vermont, Bar Harbor, Maine and even Baltimore, Maryland will make you jump for joy, especially if you have just come through a very uncomfortable summer like most of us on the East Coast of These United States.

In Stowe, which lies at the foot of Mount Mansfield, the tallest mountain in Vermont, the forecast is positively wonderful.  After the cold front passesd through with its attendant showers and storms, the cold northern air spread across the Green Mountains, which include Stowe.  As I post this early Friday afternoon, it is 70 degrees with the mercury forecast not to go any higher.  Skies are clear and the sun is shining.   Tonight, skies will be clear, although patchy fog is possible by morning.  The low will be a sleep-ionducing 47 degrees.  Saturday, Sunday and Monday are predicted to see clear skies with lots of sunshine and a high of between 76 and 77 degrees.  Lows each evening will be in the low 50's.

It is slightly cooler in Bar Harbor.  Under still cloudy skies, the temperature is 68 degrees, the same as the predicted high for the Friday.  National Weather Service Forecasters choose their words carefully in this part of the country, in part because the town is on the Atlantic Coast on a beautiful island with the unusual name of Mount Desert.  It is the home of one of the few national parks in the Northeast: Acadia.  It is gorgeous beyond description.  Saturday, Sunday and Monday will see clear skies or partly sunny skies (Monday) with high temperatures each day between 68 degrees and 70 degrees.  The nights will also be clear or partly cloudy with lows in the mid-50's.

Even as far south as the Mason Dixon line, cooler air will rule the day even with the approaching Tropical storm.  But while the cold front will stay in control in the northeast, it is here in the Mid-Atlantic and further south that the hurricane will rule the day.  It is 77 degrees right now as I post this article just after 1 pm.  The official National Weather Service forecast says tonight will be partly loudy with a low of 67 degrees.  Saturday, which had been forecast to be clear with low humidity and a high only in the upper 70's, is instead scheduled to be cloudy, breezy and with a 20% chance of rain and a high of 77 degrees.  Saturday night will be cloudy with a 30% chance of rain and a low of 64 degrees.  Sunday will be cloudy with a 30% chance of rain and a high of 77 degrees.  From Sunday Night through Monday Night, the NWS says "Tropical Storm Conditions Possible" with night time lows of between 65 and 66 degrees and a high reading on Monday (Labor Day) of 83 degrees.

Sports Notes: Burnley Keeper Tom Heaton Called to English National Team; Orioles Lose 2 of 3 Down To Toronto Despite Fine Pitching of Jimmenez in Tuesday's Win; Ravens Whack Saints in New Orleans, Roster Reductions Loom Sam Allardyce is the new Coach of the English National Soccer Team.  Coming out of the upset loss to Iceland in Euro 2016, the former English coach,  Roy Hodgson, resigned.  Last week, Allardyce named his first squad, the one that will take on Slovakia on September 4 in the first qualifying match for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.  Among Allardyce's roster is the Burnley Keeper, the irrepressible Tom Heaton.   Heaton is the first Claret player on the English National Team since 1974.  Heaton made his initial appearance with the National Team in May when England defeated Austrailia, 2-1, in a Friendly.  This will be his first game with the team in a game with real meaning.  England is in Group F along with Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Malta and Scotland.  The English will be heavy favorites, but they have drawn possibly their toughest game first: the away game at Slovakia.  The match is Sunday at the City Arena in Trnava....You could make a good argument that the Orioles were at their most desperate point of the season when they took the field Tuesday night against the Blue Jays at Camden Yards.  They were coming off a miserable showing against the Yankees in New York, where only a well-pitched game on Sunday earned them their only win of the weekend.
