Burnley's courageous draw

BALTIMORE, Maryland February 1, 2014 - Forget everything written here before.  This draw is one for the ages and Burnley and fans will take it any time it is offered.  On the road, in London, and behind, the Claret stormed back.  And then they stormed back again.  In the end there was a draw, but in a game as well played as, well, any match seen in the "other" league playing ball in this metropolis.  The final was homestanding Queens Park 3, invading Burnley 3.  Claret scores by Sam Vokes (2) and Danny Ings.  The dynamic duo actually had the Claret ahead, late, but the lad Modibo Maiga evened things with but eleven minutes in regulation time left.  Burnley continued to press as over 1400 travelling Claret faithful urged them on.  Within seconds of the end it almost happened.  Sub Junior Stanislas, on literally the last kick of the game, came within inches of giving Burnley the win.  His shot lobbed over Ranger keeper Rob Green bouncing barely wide.

As Leicester won, and Derby played to a draw, the essential standings at the top of the Championship are Leicester-66 points, Queens Park Rangers-56 points, Burnley-53 points, and Derby-52 points.  One week from today the Claret are back at Turf Moor for a rematch with Millwall.
