Obama Gloats! SCOTUS Whiffs; June Gets Cold; Orioles to Play Two

BALTIMORE, Maryland June 29, 2015 - In the aftermath of a week of divisive and un-legal, illogical SCOTUS rantings - with simultaneous and polarizing "lightings" by the President (who would be advised to, at the very least, confine his braggadocian colorings to those instances when he actually did something positive) - the nation seeks to return to something approaching an even kiel as July sets in.  The weather saw mid-summer's eve temperatures plunge into the 50's across the Mid-Atlantic plain, possibly as a tip from the Almighty that he wasn't even amused a little bit by what he had witnessed from the District in the past week.  More than one interested observer wondered whether the White House, which had shown little restraint in adopting the Pontiff's Encyclical in its totality, would begin to define what portions of its adoptive words it would continue to stand behind.  Perhaps another executive order would clarify what, for now, appears to be the White House's revisitation of its long-forgotten anti-abortion language.

In case you missed it, Pope Francis told all those who lapped up his endorsement of the global warming creed that it, by definition, went hand-in-hand with the Vatican's long and solid backing of the anti-abortion movement.  Uh-oh! Don't you worry, Mr. President, for this blogger, mum is the word!

For his part, Obama ordered the White House to be bathed in the colors of the Gay Rights Flag.  I have no advice  for this man, and I'm sure that breaks his heart.

There has been torrential rain to go along with the unusual cold in Baltimore this last Saturday in June.  By about 7 pm temperatures in some areas north of the City were below 60 degrees.  It is even colder in Europe.  A survey of locations found these readings at about 2:00 a.m., Eastern Daylight Savings Time:
Inverness, Scotland: 57 degrees
Torshavn, Faroe Islands: 40 degrees
Dublin, Ireland: 61 degrees
Oslo, Norway: 52 degrees
Murmansk, Russia: 40 degrees
Kiev, Ukraine: 64 degrees
Longyearbyan, Scalbard Islands (Norway): 39 degrees
Warsaw, Poland: 64 degrees

Now, some of these locations are pretty far north.  But some aren't.  The foul weather forced the Orioles to postpone their Saturday night game with the Red Sox by early on Saturday afternoon.  It will be made up as part of a day/night doubleheader on Sunday. The first game will begin at 1:05 pm, with the nightcap starting at 7:05 pm

There was word early Saturday afternoon that Adam Jones might be put on the disabled list by the Orioles.  Buck Showalter, the Orioles' Manager, is said to have told one or more reporters that if Jones could not start on Saturday night he would be disabled.  Jones is said to oppose the idea and believed he would be ready to go.  There was not an announcement about Jones' status by early Sunday.
