There were empty seats in the hall of the UN General Assembly, vacated by those cowardly nations who boycotted Netanyahu's speech.
The Jerusalem Post's account of the speech was itself a work of art. It said, in part, "The nuclear deal [with Iran, brokered by the USA] "will not turn the rapacious tiger into a kitten," he said. "When bad behavior is rewarded it only gets worse," he added.
"The greatest danger facing our world is the coupling of militant Islam with nuclear weapons," he said. The deal with Iran could be "the marriage certificate of this unholy union," he added.
He minced no words in describing the destructive, almost insane nature of the treaty with Iran, a deal that will allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon in about ten to fifteen years. But even the open door to nuclear weapons is not the worst part of the treaty, the Isreali leader said, but instead it pales in comparison to the tens of billions of dollars that Iran will get in sanctions relief. That money, or a large part of it, will be used to further its unprovoked war on Israel. Already, he said, Iran is gearing up to escalate its campaign of violence against the Jewish State. According to the Jerusalem Post:
"Iran has boosted the delivery of supplies and troops into Syria," Netanyahu said. "It did all this to prop up [Syrian President Bashar] Assad's brutal regime."
[Netanyahu also] said that Iran had delivered SA-22 and Yakhount missiles to Hezbollah in Lebanon in order to target Israel. In addition, Iran has built armed drones for Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in Gaza.
Iran also promised to arm Palestinians in the West Bank and sent Iranian Revolutionary Guards generals to the Golan Heights, Netanyahu said."
Netanyahu's speech comes one day after Russia surprised the United States by bombing moderate Syrian rebels opposed to embattled Syrian strong-man Bashar Assad. President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry had believed Russian Strong Man Vlad Putin's promise to only bomb ISIS. Today, Kerry and Russian officials said that there would be a 'deconflicting' conference beginning immediately so that Russia's bombing missions do not end of being against USA-backed militias.
