BALTIMORE, Maryland February 4, 2016 - Wednesday, the President of the United States came here, to Baltimore, or, more accurately, to a place just outside of Baltimore, to visit a mosque. The purpose of the trip, officially, was something to do with speaking out against racial and religious intolerance.
Except, as the President knows, there is very little racial and religious intolerance exhibited against Muslims in these United States. There are said to be some sixteen mosques in the immediate vicinity of the one Obama visited. Sadly, the one that Obama selected has a long and vigorous relationship to Islamic Terrorism. The Whitehouse cannot say it did not know that because the ties to Islamic Terrorism were looked into and scrutinized by the FBI.
There are quite a few mosques which go out of their way to avoid terrorist ties. Others are, from time to time, beset with such ties but not because that is what they wanted. Then there is the kind of mosque selected by Obama, the kind that have open and obvious ties to terrorism and the people who make it the worldwide scourge that it is.
There are many many ties between the mosque at the Islamic Society of Baltimore on Johnnycake Road, and the worldwide terrorist movement. According to an article at the Red State Blog, "The Islamic Society of Baltimore had an imam who was a leading figure in the extremist Muslim Brotherhood. The organization also is connected to the Islamic Society of North America, a Muslim civil rights group named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a 2008 criminal prosecution in which several individuals were convicted of funneling money to the terrorist group Hamas...Some past leaders of the mosque are well known to counterterrorism agencies. Mohammad Adam el-Sheikh, an imam who served at the Baltimore mosque for 15 years, most recently in 2003, was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan in the 1970s. He also has worked for an Islamic relief group that the Treasury Department designated as a terrorist organization in 2004.is going to has historical ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and other terrorist groups."
Added the Breitbart web page: "The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR)–which has been declared a terrorist organization in the United Arab Emirates and was named by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation’s Hamas-funding operation–welcomed Obama’s decision.
“For a number of years we’ve been encouraging the president to go to an American mosque,” said CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper. “With the tremendous rise in anti-Muslim sentiment in our country, we believe that it will send a message of inclusion and mutual respect.”
But critics of Obama’s decision may question his choice of the Islamic Society of Baltimore, where Mohamad Adam el-Sheikh, a native of Sudan and former member of the Muslim Brotherhood, led the institution for eighteen years as its Imam.
Before becoming Imam there, el-Sheikh helped found the Muslim American Society, an outfit created by Muslim Brotherhood members.
In 2004, he told the Washington Post, commenting on Palestinian suicide bombers: “If certain Muslims are to be cornered where they cannot defend themselves, except through these kinds of means, and their local religious leaders issued fatwas to permit that, then it becomes acceptable as an exceptional rule, but should not be taken as a principle.”
El-Sheikh also helped found the Dar Al-Hijrah mosque, which was once led by the deceased infamous Al Qaeda terrorist Anwar Al Awlaki.
When he left the Islamic Society of Baltimore, El Sheikh became the Imam of Dar Al-Hijrah, following Awlaki’s escape from the U.S. after the September 11 attacks.
The Dar Al-Hijrah mosque was founded thanks, in part, to a large grant from Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in the United States, which allowed for the large facility to accommodate some 5,000 Muslims.
Dar Al-Hijrah, which is located right outside Washington, D.C., is connected to several high-profile Islamic terrorists who prayed there, including Major Nidal Hassan – the Ft. Hood massacre jihadi, two September 11 hijackers, and an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
El-Sheikh was also the former Baltimore regional director of the Islamic American Relief Agency (IARA), which the U.S. Treasury Department later designated a specially designated global terrorist group for its support of Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
There have been not infrequent appearances at the mosque by key figures in the Jihad movement. But Obama is going there. One gets the impression that the terrorist ties are an important reason for Obama selecting this mosque.
The absolute most infuriating thing about Obama's pandering to Islamic Terrorism is the impression he gives that violence and discrimination against Muslims is rampant in These United States. But it isn't. In fact, there is virtually no violence or discrimination against Muslims in America, and Obama knows that.
But Obama is an Uber Leftist, and Uber Leftists lie as often as their little hearts desire, which is what is going on here.
