NORTHEAST, Maryland, Sunday, September 4, 2016 - In this small Maryland Town near the northern tip of the Chesapeake Bay, not far from where the 444-mile-long Susquehanna River runs into the Bay, the unexpectedly perfect late summer weather brings hundreds of day trippers pouring in here, looking for this or that, and, mostly, just looking and wallowing in the humane temperatures and bright sunshine. One shop, unexpectedly, shows old books, old coins and currency, old American Indian artifacts, and other old trinkets. Another sells the produce of Cecil County bees, nurtured lovingly by bee keepers practicing the apiary trade for generations. North East Creek runs through the town, and a fading sign tells of a developing shad or herring run. I doubt that this mendacious sign has been the least bit honest about these wonderful fish in many a decade. Nonetheless, it stands in spite of itself.
The Sunday TV talk shows all concentrate on Trump's African Gambit. A weekend radio talk host seethes at this predictable ploy by the ultra left mainstream media, knowing as anyone paying attention should know that the real and relevant story today should be the Friday document dump by the FBI and State Department. These documents help complete the obscene truths about Hillary Clinton's chronic lies, which wrap around the Benghazi Tragedy like a baby blanket on an infant. The political perversion engaged in so willingly by the FBI Director so he wouldn't have to do the "right" and correct thing and indict this felonious woman should also be receiving intense scrutiny, but, of course, it won't be because any coverage like that severely injures Hillary's chances of being President, and the whitewash of the truth the mainstream media continues in, unabated, so that they don't have to tell the truth about Crooked Hillary is the real story today. But believe me, the real story is Mr. Trump's campaign stop at a Black Church. It really is! Except when the mainstream covers the Trump at the Black Church story, they conveniently forget to show or tell you about the spontaneous standing ovation Trump received from the worshipers. You didn't know that, did you?
Apparently, one man who still claims to be Republican is growing very tired of Hillary's predictable lies and frauds. He is Colin Powell, the former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Hillary has told the FBI - the newly released documents confirm it, again - that Powell told her to use a private email server. She even says she got the idea from him. Powell is said to be outraged at Hillary's lies. He says he wrote an off-the-cuff email to her a full year after she began using her collection of private servers and devices on her own. His office released this statement on Friday:
"General Powell has no recollection of the dinner conversation. He did write former Secretary Clinton an email memo describing his use of his personal AOL email account for unclassified messages and how it vastly improved communications within the State Department. At the time there was no equivalent system within the Department. He used a secure State computer on his desk to manage classified information. The General no longer has the email he sent to former Secretary Clinton. It may exist in State or FBI files. For a complete discussion of his use of private emails he refers you to chapter 16, “Brainware” of his recent book, “It Worked For Me — In Life and Leadership,” published in 2012."
Other web sources describe Powell as angry and outraged that he is being pulled into Hillary's scandal. Don't hold your breath waiting for an article about any of this in the mainstream media.
Incidentally, do you know that many supporters of Mr. Trump are very angry at the RNC today because, once again, they have allowed all of the moderators and questioners for the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential debates to come from the ranks of the ultra left. One so-called moderator, it turns out, was actually in Obama's wedding. I have heard that the moderator of the first debate will be Matt Lauer, the ultra leftwing host of the NBC Today Show. I still remember the look on Lauer's mug when he was interviewing Curt Schilling, then the star pitcher of the Red Sox, and Schilling let loose with an off-the-cuff comment about just how wonderful some conservative was. Lauer's jaw dropped so far they needed a crane to hoist it back in place, and while he tried to pull himself back together, Schilling added, "What? You don't agree with me, Matt?"
Anyway, the point is that campaign after campaign the GOP gets suckered into these debates with "moderators" that slant their questions so far to the left that you cannot even see the middle of the road from there. Remember the one "moderator" from CNBC last summer whose questions were so far left that he was removed from participating any further and the RNC people were on the hotseat for weeks. Now, and despite their promises to the contrary, they've been had again. How hard can it be to tell the debate organizers that if half the moderators aren't right of center we won't participate, and we will name names?
As it turns out, all of these failings by the RNC may pale in comparison to another of the last minute revelations by the Ultra Left Obama Administration. Late last week Obama's head of the Department of Homeland Security, Johnson, told a gathering of mainstream media types that he wants to declare all federal elections a high-security asset of the federal government, and have his department take over the administration of all federal elections. Just think how candid and transparent the running of federal elections will be with the Ultra Left running them. Are you kidding?
