Things Deserving of Mention: President Squares Off With Far Left Media; A Sugar and Saccharin Drenched Farewell (Please Tell Me They Were Kidding); Plus This and That

BALTIMORE, Maryland, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 - Donald John Trump became the President of These United States on Friday, just a pinch in time past noon, give or take a few minutes.  I know that because I saw it and heard it.  I saw the weak-kneed Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and I saw the two Bibles that were used, and I saw Melania, i.e.; Mrs. Trump, standing beside the President.

I recite all of this because there are some folk who can't believe it, or won't.  It would be extremely silly were it not for the histrionics that have accompanied their carrying on.

George Soros, a man who looked the other way when the Nazi's were committing genocide against the Jewish people during World War II (and I am casting his behavior back then in the very best light I know) flipped half the national debt so this march could take place.  Remember there for a time, I forget whether it was during George W. Bush's eight years or Obama's eight years, that the Dems were spicing up some of their absurdities with insults of the Koch Brothers.  Most Americans had no idea who the Dems were slashing.  I knew they were wealthy conservatives who were making contributions to conservative causes along with the rest of their very generous charitable gifts.  The thinking was that if everybody kept insulting the Koch brothers, they would stop giving to conservative causes.  It didn't work as far as I know. But it was a mean-spirited and profoundly anti-American tact, and the Ultra Leftists atop the Democratic Party were very comfortable with it.  Why?  Well, you know the Koch Brothers have led exemplary lives, as far as I know, and have no skeletons in their closets, as far as i know, but they were regularly trashed, because they were not Ultra Leftists.

I bring that up because reports have now surfaced that David Brock and his Soros-bankrolled Media Matters Group of real low brows are meeting in secret with other Ultra Far Left operatives, trying to devise ways of impeaching Trump.  They want to dig something up and make a big deal about it.  They want to make him miserable and the USA miserable, instead of letting Trump and his administration see if their novel ideas work.

This is what my party does these days.  They obviscate and lie in Congress to delay the Trump cabinet.  It has been an American tradition to permit Presidents to select their cabinets and then get their administrations together and have at it.  Sure, some Presidents elected without control of the Senate don't have the easiest path, but even in those cases the President gets his cabinet unless criminal difficulties or large-scale conflicts of interest show up.  In those cases they make another choice and the process continues.  In the meantime, the appointed cabinet member gets into the department and starts working while he waits.

Schumer is said to be griping about some nonsense back in Obama's first term.  Remember that Obama controlled Congress completely during his first term, and on Obama's first day some eight cabinet officers were fully approved by the Congress.  In the same period of time, Trump had two.  He still doesn't have his Secretary of State or his Attorney General.  I'm beginning to wonder what about Mr. Sessions really bothers the Dems.  Could it be a Hillary indictment is still more than possible?  Or is it somebody closer to Obama? Just saying.

Meanwhile, Trump is making things happen and it is, so far, quite impressive.  Ted Crews, the chief opponent of Trump during the hotly contested primary season, is very excited about how Trump is doing things and appears to be fully on board.

There is nausea galore abounding all around These United States after the Saturday Night Live cast - known for political comedy and satire - sang what appeared to be a serious good bye to Obama to the sugar sweet tune of 'To Sir With Love'.  They really did this, with close-ups of the cast getting all teary eyed.  What is the matter with these people?  Did they suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress when they learned about the "Real Santa Claus?"  Obama was a fiction and nothing he did worked.  I'm glad the country could put that stinking glass barrier about who could be president behind us.  But To Sir With Love?  Nothing could have been worse.  It was awful at best and embarrassing at least.

In Sports, the University of Maryland has crept up the latest polls.  The Terps, who whacked Rutgers in College Park tonight (Tuesday), are now No. 22 in the AP poll and No. 23 in the Coach's poll.  They invade Minnesota this weekend.

Burnley is a gritty bunch.  They went to Arsenal on Sunday, but lost, 2-1.  The Claret trailed until injury time, when a penalty shot by Andre Gray knotted the score.  Then, a hotly disputed award of a penalty kick to homestanding Arsenal just as the final whistle was about to sound allowed the Gunners to score the winning goal.  It was robbery according to Sean Dyche, the Burnley Coach, who alleged, with strong evidence to back him up, that Arsenal was well off side when the penalty shot was awarded.  The loss dropped Burnley to 13th on the Premier Table, but they remain ten points clear of relegation.
