BALTIMORE, Maryland May 9, 2016 - The birth of a grandson, especially when that grandson arrives - along with his mom and dad - to live with you and most of the rest of your family, is guaranteed to be far more than a pleasant distraction. He happily takes up tons of time. Sadly, suffering is my time for writing. Now these many weeks later we hope to have arrived at a point where all important things have their time, including my long time predilection for writing. Anyway...
There have been thousands of seminal events that have taken place during my time away that deserve serious comment, and, obviously, I will not be able to touch upon them all. Some, however, jump out with fireworks, demanding attention.
First and foremost: It is time that the United States Congress use its inherent and very real and profound Constitutional power to launch a full-scale, and completely open investigation of the Obama Administration and its very obvious ties to Islamic Terrorism. It is actually hard to understand why something akin to this hasn't taken place already. Since the Obama Regime along with its obnoxious hard left policies came to power some 7 and one-half years ago, the problem of Islamic Terrorism in these United States went from the one successful surprise attack on 9/11/2001 to a fact of everyday life in America. There have been two horrific attacks in the last six months, including the biggest massacre in American history last Sunday morning in Florida. There is growing evidene that the regime had the Orlando Jihadist directly in their cross-hairs as recently as 2014, but for reasons that cannot be explained, Obama and his functionaries took the killer off of their Terrorist Watch List. You have read that correctly: the Orlando Mass Murderer was on the Terrorist Watch List. But Obama and friends took him off. That's right, Obama and his functionaries took the Orlando Jihadist OFF OF The TERRORIST WATCH LIST. Not even the Mass Murderer's purchase of guns caused Homeland Security to flinch. A suspect that was on the Terrorist list extremely recently purchased weapons that were used in his evil attack, and it didn't even cause a blip on Homeland Security's radar screen. Let that swirl around in your mind. On the terror list, buying guns, and nobody cared.
There have been growing reports that top members of the Obama regime have had people under active investigation by Homeland Security taken off of federal terror lists because, they said, too much of the evidence against them was that they were Muslim. Why do I think or fear that this policy is what got the Orlando Jihadist out from under the watch list's increased scrutiny? Even more troubling is the Regime's policy of allowing tens of thousands of unvetted Muslims into the United States despite dire warnings from their own people that the new Islamic immigrants almost certainly include ISIS Terrorist plants. This is rank and bald insanity, and it goes totally unchallenged on Capital Hill, so cowed are Republicans. The GOP legislators on Capital Hill today are missing backbones and a sense of duty to their constituents. They have completely forgotten the reason for the moniker "loyal opposition." Now, in the wake of the latest Jihadist attack on Sunday, the ultra left has been filibustering unrelated legisilation, demanding that new gun control measures be included in it. Worse still, if that is possible, is the evidence that the GOP might be about to get on board, rather than labeling the left's nonsensical attack for what it is, a bald attempt to control the discussion and get it away from the rank and, quite frankly, stinking commentary it portrays about the Obama Administration and its failed leadership. The Democrats which make up the Ultra Left should be ashamed, but they have no shame. Neither, apparently, does the GOP on Capital Hill. And it even appears that Donald Trump is joining the Ultra Left, as he announces a ridiculous plan to "speak" with the National Rifle Association about the plan to incorporate gun control measures in new legislation now pending. The discussion right now must be about Islamic Terrorism and the failure or complicity of the Obama Regime in preventing likely terrorists from gaining entry into these United States.
The ultra left has the idea that they can change and divert the national discussion away from Islamic Terror and back to the Constitutional Right to own Firearms and other weapons. What they do is attack old gun control legislation as an amendment to unrelated legislation, then filibuster the United States Senate to get a vote on the subject. Most Senators know their constituents are on to the ruse and accept the duty of their Senator to defeat any gun restrictions. But their are a precious few Senators which serve in districts that have narrow majorities of GOP voters who would prefer not to have to defend such a voting choice right now. Making legislators cast very public votes is an old idea. Harry "Dingy Harry" Reid spent years shielding Democratic Senators from casting such uncomfortable votes by refusing to allow hot topics to come up for votes. The idea circulating by the left to prevent anyone on the much-criticized Terrorist Watch list from buying firearms, in spite of the black-letter law of the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights, is a sham. The Obama Regime controls the Terror Watch list and who goes on it. The Orlando Jihadist was TAKEN OFF THE LIST. YET OBAMA AND THE LEFT WANT TO MAKE THE LIST A WAY OF ROBBING FOLK OF THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. IF THEY ARE ALLOWED TO GET THEIR FOOT IN THE DOOR WITH THIS NONSENSE, IT WILL BE KATY, BAR THE DOOR. Soon, GOP citizens will be landing on the list for very flimsy reasons. Shame to all who have failed the American People.
A 25-year-old Syrian Woman and Member of the Administration of President Barack Obama has been publicly quoted as saying that the Islamic Attack on these United States of America on September 11, 2001 "changed the world for the better." Laila Alawa, selected by Obama to serve on an advisory council of the Homeland Security Administration, made those comments in 2014. More recently, she was one of the co-signatories on a report that urged Homeland Security to stop referring to Sharia Law and other words that somehow boosted discrimination against Muslims. Miss Alawa, a bigot, would be advised that what boosts prejudice against Muslims is the propensity for Muslims to be involved in mass murders of non-Muslims. Stop killing folk and torturing folk and all of the other distasteful things you do to people who don't share your religious beliefs and you will find that all of this so-called prejudice will go away so quick it will make your head swim.
So far, Obama has not moved to replace the bigoted hate-monger, Ms. Alawa, from the federal citizen's committee she serves on at his discretion. The person of whom we speak, incidentally, runs a "media company," called "The Tempest," which can be found at http://thetempest.co/about/.
The time has arrived, in the light of the sick and perverted attack on innocents at a nightclub in Orlando, for the country to re-evaluate the way that it looks upon the joke argument made by the ultra-left that the issue in the wake of those attacks is guns. Does ISIS kill on the count of guns. Or does ISIS intend to kill non-Muslims, no matter how they have to do it? Yesterday, just hours after another attack by evil Islamic Terrorists, President Obama's Homeland Security director said that the time has arrived for him to begin taking action against gun owners. That would be in direct contravention to the Second Amendment of the Federal Bill of Rights.
What unites the brutal and senseless attack in Orlando and the brutal and perverted attack on 14 innocent victims in California before Christmas, the brutal and senseless attacks in Paris and Amsterdam is the people who are responsible for these outrages. These people are evil Islamic Terrorists. Evil Islamic Terrorists are sick and dastardly, godless jerks who have taken it upon themselves to kill innocent people because they do not conform with their interpretation of the Islamic faith. Our president, however, has done all in his power to avoid blaming Islamics. This, even though tens of millions of Islamics want the credit. But forget that for a minute; I really don't care what Obama says anymore. Really, I don't. What I care about is what he does or doesn't do. He has been the absolute worst president in the history of his own Jihad.
Here in America, Obama fights desperately for the continued right to allow tens of thousands of unvetted Islamics into these United States. What is the matter with him? The matter is that he is an Islamic. He cares far more about Islamics than he cares about these United States. Within hours of the horror in Orlando, the corrupt Obama attacked USA citizens who treasure the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights, and hinted that they are somehow responsible for the carnage. Huh? That is just plain sick. What is wrong with a brief respite to the immigration of those who cannot be vetted for connections to Terrorist groups. Are we just allowing anyone unwilling to pledge that they have no connection to Islamic Terrorists
It doesn't get any sicker or more grotesque than the Washington Post's announcement this week that it was assigning 20 reporters to fully vet every aspect of Donald Trump's life. If you are waiting for a similar announcement by the Post with regard to Hillary Clinton, you are waiting in vain. That is why it is grotesque. Well, in fact, hold the proverbial presses. At day's end the Post said it had 20 reporters on Hillary also. One of the blogs - The Daily Caller, I think - looked up the stories written by the 20 reporters covering Hillary. Virtually every story was a happy story about history's most corrupt and criminally oriented candidate. Meanwhile, all of the stories about Mr. Trump, a businessman with no criminal record, will be to the effect that he is the most evil and stupid candidate ever. Earlier, you'll recall, President Obama ordered some press outfit to do exactly what the Post is doing. This is 100% perverted. Nobody in the press did any vetting of Obama. None at all. It was clear that if they did, he would not be elected. So the man who pandered to bombers and kissed up to every dictator and tyrant on earth and paid no price for it, now wants what he was spared for Trump, but not for the felonious Clinton. Hillary would hardly notice the extra attention of the press because she is preoccupied with the ongoing FBI probe of all things Clinton. What has happened to the press? They are no better than the most common of criminals.
The lads at Burnley have done it. They have returned in impressive fashion to the Premier League, beginning in August. How impressive, you ask? The last time these blue collar heroes lost a soccer match was on Boxing Day. For you statesiders, that is the day after Christmas, in the year 2015. After that uninspiring loss to Hull City, the Claret apparently made a New Year's resolution: to stop losing. Even with that impressive run, they didn't have an easy task. The Championship has become a very tough league. Consider that Leicester City, which barged into the Premier in 2013 along with Burnley, just won the Premier, beating the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea in the process. Burnley played amazingly considering the decimation their offensive firepower underwent as they clinched the promotion in that 2013 season. They beat Arsenal in that 2013-2014 season. They tied Chelsea, at Chelsea. But they just couldn't score against a lot of teams - at one point playing three straight 0-0 draws - and got relegated, as it turns out, for just one season. No sooner were they in the Championship then they were out, and up, again. This time, they will take offense with them. They acquired a prolific scorer in Andre Green. And they are not benefitting by the return to health of Sam Vokes. Vokes combined with Daryl Inge to lead the Claret to the Premier League two seasons back. But at the end of the season, Vokes sustained a terrible knee injury that has taken all of two seasons to recover from. He played a few games at season's end last season, but was obviously still suffering from the injury. Even this season he was a bit off of his game. Here at season's end, however, the old Vokes has become an increasingly large factor in Burnley's charge. With both the awesome Green and the "old" Vokes on the pitch, Burnley will be a legitimate competitor in the Premier come August.
And I cannot end without saying a word about my beloved Orioles. Against all of the odds, a team with only one quality starting pitcher, Chris Tillman, and one other good starting pitcher who can't seem to win a game, Kevin Gausman, who is 0-3 despite a 3.45 ERA. Now, the biggest disappointment of the rotation, Ubaldo Jimenez, has been run out to the bullpen at the same time a real pen work horse, Vance Worley, has been put on the disabled list. Long-injured off-season acquisition Yovani Gallardo is said to be close to returning and Odrisamer Despaigne has been recalled from Norfolk.
Despite these failures, the Orioles remain tied atop the American League East with the Red Sox. The Rubber Game of their three game series in Fenway is tonight. Tyler Wilson, who hasn't pitched well of late, is the scheduled Oriole starter.
