BALTIMORE, Maryland March 23, 2014 (1:15 am) - No. 1 Florida State swept a doubleheader from No. 17 Clemson, and in doing so vaulted ahead of the Tigers and into sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Division of the ACC. The Seminoles cruised in the opener, 11-1, but rallied dramatically to win the nightcap, 4-3. Clemson led the second game, 3-1 entering the seventh. But Florida State got a solo homerun from Justin Gonzalez and RBI hits from Jose Brizuela and John Sansone to take the lead, 4-3. Heisman Trophy Winner Jameis Winston, the Seminole closer, got the final seven outs to earn the save. Clemson, which out-hit the Seminoles 8-7, moved ahead in the second inning, 3-0, and held that lead until the Seminoles pushed across a single run in the sixth. Florida State is now 9-3 in the ACC and 19-4 overall. Clemson, which beat Florida State Friday night, slipped to 6-3 in the ACC and 14-9 overall.
