In-Fighting Jolts Democrats in Run-Up to Iowa Caucuses

TOWSON, Maryland Sunday, February 2, 2020 - There is an amazing turn of events washing across the Democratic Party in the run-up to the official start of the Presidential Primary Season.  This weekend, former First Lady and 2016 Democratic Standard Bearer, Hilary Clinton, ripped into current Democratic Candidate Bernie Sanders.

Sanders, an aging Marxist who some Democratic voters see as a welcome candidate among Democratic Hopefuls, drew the ire of the failed Clinton because, she said, he failed to marshal his supporters behind Clinton after he lost to Clinton in the Democratic race.  Actually, there is a large question about whether he did lose, since the DNC concedes that rules were broken and strings pulled for Clinton to the detriment of Sanders.  Sanders, however, hardly raised a fuss in the sordid affair and did work, at least some, for Clinton.

Clinton alleged this week that "nobody likes" Sanders and nobody can work with him.  Sanders squabbled last week with fellow Senator and Presidential Candidate Elizabeth Warren over whether Sanders said Warren was a liar during a Democratic Debate.

Meanwhile, another Democratic candidate, Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, is in hot water for her work in a criminal case that resulted in the conviction and sentencing of a suspect later found to be innocent.  The accused man is Myron Burrell, who was 16 in 2002 when an 11-year-old was shot and killed while doing school homework in her home.  Another suspect, Ike Tyson, says he and not Burrell, pulled the trigger on the shot that killed the child.  Klobuchar was a Minnesota prosecutor at the time.
