British Navy Joining Search for Missing Jet; They Dispatch Sub and Specialized Ship

BALTIMORE, Maryland April 2, 2014 - The British Navy is getting involved in the search for the Malaysian Jet missing for over three weeks with 2139 people on board. With time running out on the battery in the plane's black box, London has announced that its submarine, the HMS Tireless, and its Ship, the HMS Echo, will join the search Wednesday.

According to the Independent in London, Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, the head of the Australian agency leading the search operation, said the search is "the most complex and challenging search and rescue operation, or search and recovery operation now, that I've ever seen".

There was no word on whether the British Navy was asked to dispatch these ships, or if they contacted the search team and volunteered.
