McCain Blasts Kerry, Obama Over Handling of Russian Military Aggression

BALTIMORE, Maryland April 8, 2014 - USA Secretary of State John Kerry was on Capital Hill today, filling in legislators about the latest news in Ukraine. He gave serious testimony on Russia's use of paid operatives and its own agents in Eastern Ukraine to stoke violance. See related post at Credible and Incisive. But Senator John McCain, the Arizona Republican and former Presidential Candidate and Prisoner of War, took the opportunity to have at Kerry and President Obama for their feckless response to the Russian Aggression.

“My hero Teddy Roosevelt used to say talk softly and carry a big stick,” McCain said. “What you’re doing is talking strongly and carrying a very small sick. In fact, a twig.”

  1. You really should INCLUDE Kerry's wonderful response to this attack. You have done an injustice by only telling half the story.

  2. Kerry responded: “Your friend Teddy Roosevelt also said the credit belongs to the people who are in the arena trying to get things done. And we're trying to get something done. That’s a Teddy Roosevelt maxim, and I abide by it.”
